So Good It Can’t Be a Sin (Review – SinSkins)

As we’ve established by now, when it comes to a great skin, I can get lost for words – and the new 2.0 line at SinSkins is no exception. Being an AV with a ‘mature’ look in SL, I value a skin that suits a wide spectrum of people – 2.0 is perfect whether you’re young or old, and with a swiftly growing range of makeups, Portia Sin’s latest line really does have a look for every occasion.

There are 8 skintones to choose from, varying from very pale (1.) to very dark (8.) – i’m wearing skintone 2 above. The current range of 12 makeups are available in every tone, and there is a skin with freckles included in your purchase; two skins, nail/toenail polish and eyelashes (not shown) come together for 1000L, which in today’s rather expensive skin market is a bargain, at such high quality. Eyebrows are tintable, and Portia includes a tintable prim patch of pubic hair (the skin itself is bare) for those of you that prefer that. All in all, you get everything you really need and want in the pack.

Now i’m someone that doesn’t really like freckles most of the time, but I find myself really drawn to the freckled options in the 2.0. Perhaps its because they’re not as in-your-face as some other skin creators make them, or perhaps i’m just so in love with the line that I don’t care (which is quite possible).

Nothing about the 2.0 puts me off – the body details are realistic without being too ripped or freakishly accurate down below (there are times when you just don’t want a biology textbook-style diagram) and the face is perfection, in my eyes at least.

So, I sincerely recommend that you (yes, you) immediately take a trip to Sin Skins and get some demos on yourself. These are genuinely some of the most exciting skins i’ve seen in a while and I foresee myself wearing them often.

  1. I have a soft spot for sin skins, as I was lucky enough to start as a newbie with one, and my shape evolved based on them.
They look absolutely stunning on you, I can see why you are smitten. I adore Portia’s freckles.

  2. I went and, goodie, got the free make-up from the subscribe-o-matic, lovely! I liked one or two other make-ups as well, but can’t afford any for now.

I never liked much the first line of skins but these have good potential, especially the tones 03 to 05 are my favourites, with or without freckles.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  3. Nice post.Keep up with the good information!

  4. These skins really suit you Valena!

  5. The freckles is what I love most of this skin…. my current skin — which I’m very happy with — was designed for redheads but somehow lacks freckles. I’ve often wondered why, because we tend to get freckles the moment we catch any sun.

So I wondered…. have you tried to tint the eyebrows red, or at least auburn? Does it work with the skin?

    Thanks for the posting!
