Straight to Business

Hello Fashion Planet Readers! (hopefully)

If you want to know more about this blog please see our previous posts, and the ‘About’ page. Thanks!

Now, as I sat down to make a post about Businesswear in SL, I thought to myself ‘I don’t want to blog the obvious, or blog things that everyone’s seen before’. And then Armidi released all those shirts and blouses.

However I feel I have managed to keep just a little Armidi in here, and mixed it up with other things to make fairly simple but smart and slightly varied professional looks. I also learned how to do shadows, so you’ll see lots of them from now on! :D

Firstly I put together a less dressy, more modern and young look, beginning with the Tres Blah Gwen Black Sweater, which has numerous options, including with shirt and tie or any combination of the above. I then added the gorgeous tight leather pants from the Cachet ‘MAX’ outfit, which are worn on the pants and socks layers for extra length. Next I added the rather sexy and very amazing ‘Annyka’ hair from Aden – and I know I’m not the only one who loves that ‘do. I myself don’t own much Tuli, even though she’s a fantastic content creator, as before the S5 line my avatar just didn’t suit her skins; the Classic range of makeups however are really lovely and I do enjoy wearing them every so often. For accessories I added the near-compulsory Slinky Stilettos from Maitreya (although i have noticed a lot more fab stilettos clicking around SL, does anyone recommend others? i’m always cautious about trying new stores, and some pairs are just too damn expensive), the ‘Juju Sunglasses’ in Bistre from Tres Blah again, and the ‘Hapsburg’ bag in Onyx from Paper Couture’s Fall ’06 Collection (how old now, huh?). Black glasses might’ve been better (thanks, B!) but sod it, too late now :P

More outfits (and minor windlight/photoshop disasters) after the cut.

As we established in my first post, I tend to wear black almost all of the time. What can I say, it’s easy to mix and match with and it’s just naturally what I like. So it was no surprise that when I invested in the ‘Dans la Ville’ outfit from Armidi, I got the all-black version. The frilly blouse, to me, is perfect – it’s so my taste, it’s mad. Rather than using the high-waist shrots in the pack, i opted for the high-waist skirt from the ‘Puma Kie’ outfit at *ICING*; this is one of my favourite items from Miko, which I felt gave the ensemble a more office-y edge. For a professional-esque hairstyle I chose the No Bangs Bun from ETD (stolen from Mariya Nesiote, naturally). Dark stockings from the droolworthy ‘Duchess’ Coat from Casa del Shai. Considering everything thus far was black, i chose the bright red Cachet bag, which might not be in-store, I dunno, but I really like it. Shoes are the Dalia pumps from Armidi and the skin is MMS Gen4, makeup 7 from the Pale range.

After doing two almost completely black outfits, I figured I should really mix it up. Almost at the opposite end of the dulux colour chart are the creams and the soft blues of this outfit, created primarily from Armidi’s ‘Cambridge’ outfit and Cachet’s ‘GoldGlam’ outfit, top and pants respectively. I selected the fluffy and seductive Glamorous II from Armidi also, and a cute little purse from Cachet which I can’t remember the name of. Skin’s the Gen3 ‘new’ face (not so new now, i guess :P ) and shoes are the delicious ‘Natasha’ pointy stilettos from Tesla. Overall I think this outfit is less business predator and office babe. Or at least I hope so.

Please comment if you like this post, this is the first from our blog to go on the feed and i’m terribly nervous! Please ignore the bad windlight and the blurring on the cachet pants; WL caused the leg prims to look totally different from the actual texture pants, so I tried to fix it in my ham-handed ways D:

  4. You might want to try storm shooze, but at least in my opinion they aren’t nearly as good as Maitreya,Tesla, and Armidi.
